When we think about being healthy, most people don’t consider how much oxygen is being delivered to the cells of their body, but this is by far the most fundamental aspect of good health. Abundant oxygen delivery to your cells means healthy, happy and strong cells which are capable of repairing themselves. Poor oxygen delivery to your cells equals low energy levels, a weakened immune system and general poor health.
So it is crucial to understand that the quality of your blood is what determines how much oxygen is reaching the cells of your body. No matter how active you are and how much time you spend in the fresh air, if your blood quality is low (i.e. low iron and haemoglobin levels) your blood will not be able to deliver the oxygen abundantly to your cells.
And this is why enriching your blood nutritionally is the number one step in improving your health. Increased oxygen delivery means everything in your body functions better immediately. The amazing thing about our body is that it knows how to repair itself, and it can do this on 2 conditions:
1. We stop toxifying it with substances that it cannot use to its benefit.
2. We nourish it with the very best fuels available, (including water to assist in cellular cleansing).
As I said, the ultimate fuel for every cell of your body is oxygen, but we can help that oxygen reach our cells in the following ways:
1. We increase the quality of our blood by significantly increasing our consumption of iron-rich, chlorophyll-rich foods. Green vegetable juices, green salads, wheatgrass juice, spirulina and so on will all do this.
Chlorophyll is almost identical to haemoglobin (the protein in your blood which carries oxygen), and so the more chlorophyll in your diet, the healthier your blood. But all alkaline, mineral-rich foods are beneficial for the blood. Acidic foods create acidic waste in the blood, so we should have a lower proportion (i.e. 30%) of these foods in our diet.
2. We need to move our body more, especially outdoors where we can breathe an abundance of oxygen-rich air. Exercise also gets us breathing more deeply, which increases blood flow, which increases oxygen circulation and the removal of waste from the blood.
3. Drink as much pure water as possible. Our cells can only breathe properly when they are not swimming in waste, and water is the body’s way of cleaning itself. The more unnatural, processed and acidic food you consume, the more waste will be created and the more water you will need to drink to keep the cellular environment clean.
To summarise…
Chlorophyll, exercise & water are the 3 most crucial medicines your body needs, to maximise oxygen delivery to the cells of your body.
To support this, remove as much of the junk from your diet as you possibly can (i.e. comfort foods / stimulants / processed foods / highly acidic foods) and you will experience levels of health that you had forgotten existed.
Quite simply, the healthier you are, the happier and more positive you will feel. Mediocre health is an invitation to lethargy, tiredness, negativity, emotional volatility and pessimism, and we simply don’t need to experience these states. We invite them in with our lifestyle choices.
