Your Heart

The human heart is one of the most precious things in existence. It is infinitely more sensitive and delicate than we can comprehend, and is capable of being damaged so incredibly easily. I am sure you know this from personal experience.

Just a few harsh words can lead to pain that remains for years. A few harsh words can destroy a deeply loving bond in a matter of seconds, and make it almost impossible for that person to open up to you ever again. With the heart, the stakes are high.

We each have a protective shield for our heart, and for most people this shield remains firmly in place, until they meet someone they feel they can trust to be careful with their heart. Removing it is a big risk, because the potential for the heart to be damaged without this shield it is very high. But we hope. We dream of our heart being treated with the loving gentleness that it longs for.

Sadly, we are often let down. The harshness shows its face again. Our hopes are dashed, and our child-like excitement for sharing our love and joy with the person we adore is dealt a cruel blow.

It hurts. It really hurts…

That pain leaves a residue in our heart that can take months, years or even decades to become free of. This is why removing the protective shield from around out heart is a huge risk. This is why it feels so much safer to keep it permanently in place.

When it is there, we know that no harsh energies are capable of damaging our heart. It’s beauty can still be seen, but no one can touch it. No careless handling can occur. Our heart feels safe.

And we really need our heart to feel safe. We need to trust that it will be treated carefully, gently and lovingly.

This is why we instinctively gravitate towards the people who we know will not judge us, criticise us, blame us or be aggressive with us in any way. We want kind and friendly energies in our communications. We want people in our life than we feel understand how we need to be treated.

And for this to occur, we must be the example. We show people, by how we speak to them, how we would like to spoken to. We treat them with the care, patience and gentleness that we would like to be treated with.

If you demonstrate that you are willing to be sensitive and careful in how you treat them, they will start to feel safe enough to be more vulnerable, gentle and open with you.

If we want our heart to be seen, we must see the heart of others. We must make the greatest effort to look past any aggression, hostility or unfriendliness to see the vulnerability beneath. People use these things to prevent their vulnerability from being seen. And if we react with the same energy of hostility and unfriendliness, then they have successfully diverted us away from seeing the true innocence of who they, are beneath their defensive barriers. We all do this. We all use aggression to protect our heart.

But every human heart longs for recognition and attention. It wants its vulnerability and beauty to be seen so desperately, but at the same time is very scared of this occuring.

And so the heart is faced with a dilemma…

Does it put down its weapons of aggression and hostility, so that the possibility of deep recognition and love can occur? Or does it remain afraid, keep the barriers us and keep people at a distance?

Life is full of risk, especially when our heart is open. There is a very real risk of getting hurt. And so it makes sense to close our heart to avoid this, but then we face risk of living life with a deeply lonely heart. This is a very painful and cold path to walk down.

But thankfully life is kind, and it wants to help us avoid both pain and loneliness. And it is possible. But the heart does still need a protective shield so it can feel safe enough to be seen, without being hurt. But agression and hostility do not work. If you want less pain in your life, you must abandon these at once.

Instead, have a transparent shield, so you can feel safe, without hiding who you are. You need people to see the light and goodness within you. Yes, be careful and cautious with people but don’t be unfriendly. Observe them, notice how they treat people. Notice if they are emotionally stable and consistent, or unpredictable and volatile.

But most importantly, make sure you are consistent yourself; not volatile or liable to be aggressive or mean. Such behaviour destroys friendships and relationships. It keeps people at a distance from you. Not everyone, because some kind souls will recognise your need for care and healing.

So be one of those kind souls. Show your commitment to kindness and gentleness, and you will help the people around you to feel emotionally safe with you. As a result they will feel comfortable being open and vulnerable with you, and this in turn will make it even easier for you to be open and vulnerable with them.

This is how we propagate love, through how we treat eachother. Be a safe person for others, and move towards becoming a more gentle and less aggressive human being. You will benefit, and we will all benefit.

Thank you 🙏
